B.B. Clarke Beach First known as Monona Park when it was established in 1902, then Spaight Street Park, this park was renamed in 1929 for Bascom B. Clarke (1854-1929), a Madison businessman. He was a founder of the Dane County Telephone Company, publisher of the nationally distributed American Thresherman magazine and an active fund-raiser for children's charities.
