Planning Documents
- 2004 - East Rail Corridor Plan
Starting in 2002, a County sponsered BUILD project was initiated for the 600-1100 blocks of Williamson St.
Detailed information, including preliminary drafts, can be found here: Friends of Historic Third Lake Ridge BUILD documentation.

1963 - Marquette Study Area Report
In 1963 the City of Madison Planning Department studied the Williamson Street area as a candidate for a federally
funded Urban Renewal project, similar to what was done in the Greenbush Neighborhood. However, due to grassroots neighborhood activism, the city and redevelopment
authority did not continue with any such plan, but their contemplation of it is instructional as to the woes that plagued the area.
Contained in the report are numerous demographic breakdowns of the population, an inventory of existing building stock, and an examination of current zoning.
Some of the issues noted havely largely disappered from the neighborhood today. Some are continuing nuisances. Some, like
the pervasiveness of mixed use buildings, have ceased to be seen as a detriment, and are now valued as a vital part of the community.
The report is availible in the Central Branch Library Pamphlet Collection.
